Calif. Jury Finds for General Contractor in Mesothelioma Case

LOS ANGELES –– A California jury has reached a defense verdict in a malignant mesothelioma case, rejecting the plaintiffs’ attempts to pursue punitive damages against a general contractor, sources told HarrisMartin. Carden, et al. v. Bechtel Construction Co., et al., No. BC435662 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).

Parsons Infrastructure & Technology Group Inc. was the lone remaining defendant at the time of the July 27 verdict, sources said. The trial was presided over by Judge Michael Paul Linfield of Department 10 in the California Superior Court for Los Angeles County.
