Jury Finds Weil-McLain Product Not Defective, Company Owed No Duty




MINEOLA, N.Y. -- A jury has determined that Weil-McLain boiler products were not defective and that the asbestos defendant did not owe a duty to warn a man who claimed his peritoneal mesothelioma was caused by the company's products. Bullen v. Weil-McLain, No. 00878404 (N.Y. Sup. Ct., Nassau Cty.).

The June 9 verdict was entered by a jury for the New York Supreme Court for Nassau County after a four-week trial and more than 3 hours of deliberation before Judge Roy Mahon.
