Man Exposed to Asbestos at Side Job Awarded $12.6 Million




LOS ANGELES -- A jury has awarded $12.6 million in a mesothelioma lawsuit filed by a man who worked on home repairs as a side job. Behshid v. Bondex International, et al., No. BC343104 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).

On June 22, the California Superior Court for Los Angeles County broke down the award into $12 million for pain and suffering and $600,000 for medical expenses. The jury deliberated for nearly two days after a 13-day trial overseen by Judge Ricardo A. Torres.
