ATLANTA - A Georgia appeals court has affirmed summary judgment in a suit originally filed against 16 asbestos manufacturers and suppliers because the plaintiff was unable to show that her brothers were exposed specifically to the defendants' products, which she alleged caused her malignant pleural mesothelioma. Hoffman, et al. v. AC&S, Inc., et al., No. A00A2409 (Ga. Ct. App.).
On March 14, the Court of Appeals of Georgia dismissed the appeal as to two defendants, Pittsburgh-Corning Corp. and Asbestos Claims Management Co, which had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, and affirmed summary judgment for the remaining three defendants, AC&S, …
