Calif. Jury Awards Nearly $2 Million in Naval Mechanic Exposure Case




SAN FRANCISCO -- A California jury has awarded nearly $2 million to a naval mechanic who claimed his 20-year career exposed him to asbestos. Clemmer, et al. v. John Crane Inc., et al., No. 434434 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Francisco Cty.).

The San Francisco Superior Court jury entered the $1,917,400 verdict on March 24, after a trial before Judge Kevin McCarthy.

The jury assessed $98,000 for past medical expenses; $69,000 for future medical; $400,400 for non-medical economic; $1.1 million for non-economic; and $250,000 for loss of consortium.
