ATLANTA -- Several parties have weighed in on the constitutionality of Georgia's asbestos and silica legislation, asking the state's high court to uphold the enactment as originally intended. DaimlerChyrsler Corp., et al. v. Richard Ferrante, et al., No. S06A0902 (Ga. Sup. Ct.).

The amici curiae brief was filed Feb. 27 in the Georgia Supreme Court just months after the high court agreed to review the legislation, specifically a chapter or retroactivity.
