N.Y. Court Denies Motion to Reconsider Indemnification Dispute

NEW YORK -- A New York court has denied a motion to reconsider a decision that found an indemnification contract between two asbestos defendants valid. Croteau, et al. v. ACandS, et al., No. 118793/2001 (N.Y. Sup. Ct., New York Cty.).

The March 6 decision by the New York Supreme Court for New York County upheld a decision that requires Treadwell Corp. to indemnify Consolidated Edison for an underlying mesothelioma lawsuit.

Plaintiff Robert Croteau claimed his employment as a boilermaker at two Consolidated Edison power plants exposed him to asbestos, ultimately causing his mesothelioma.
