General Electric Ordered to Comply with Settlement Agreement

NEW YORK -- Judge Helen E. Freedman of the New York Supreme Court for New York County has ordered asbestos defendant General Electric to comply with a settlement agreement the company entered into with clients of a New York law firm. Bauer v. General Electric Co., et al., No. 10611/99 (N.Y. Sup. Ct., New York Cty.).

The Jan. 20 order directed General Electric to make immediate payments to those claimants who had not been paid.
