Kansas Governor Signs Asbestos And Silica Claims Act

TOPKEA, Kansas -- Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius approved the Asbestos and Silica Claims Act (S.B. 512) on May 19, signing the bill into law just weeks after a unanimous Senate passed the legislation.

The asbestos and silica medical criteria bill was enrolled and presented to Governor Sebelius on May 9, after the Kansas House of Representatives had passed the legislation by a vote of 111-11 and the Senate voted in favor of the bill, 40-0.
