$8 Million Awarded to Insulator Who Worked at Exxon Mobil Site




SAN FRANCISCO - A San Francisco jury has awarded more than $8 million to a former insulator who was diagnosed with mesothelioma after years of working around asbestos products at several Bay Area job sites, including one overseen by Exxon Mobil Corp. Vasen v. Exxon Mobil Corp., No. 312211 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Francisco Cty.).

Exxon was the lone remaining defendant at trial when, on March 21, the jury awarded Alan Vasen $8,224,600.

After deliberating for three days, jurors awarded Vasen $50,000 in past medical expenses, $50,000 in future medical expenses, $624,600 in lost earnings and $7.5 million in non-economic …
