Florida Jury Finds for Defense




WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A Florida jury has found for defendant AC&S Inc. in an asbestos trial that stemmed from a lawsuit filed by the widow of an insulation cutter, who sought more than $8 million in damages for the death of her husband. Peterson v. AC&S Inc., No. 00-2864AD (Fla. Cir. Ct., Palm Beach Cty.).

The Palm Beach County jury returned its verdict March 22, finding AC&S was not negligent in the death of Raymond Peterson.

Peterson's widow, Joan, had sued AC&S because it had supplied asbestos-containing insulation to Peterson's employer, Minneapolis-based A.H. Bennett.
