U.S. Senator Threatens to Pull Support of S. 852

WASHINGTON -- Senator Max Baucus (D-Mont.) has threatened to pull his support of S. 852 if provisions protecting people in Libby, Mont,. are removed.
In a Dec. 13 press release, Baucus said: 'I'll yank my support from the asbestos bill in a New York minute if the Libby Fix gets pulled. I'll not only pull my support for the bill, but I'll actively fight to sink it altogether.'
According to the press release, the 'Libby Fix,' a provision Baucus fought to include, would account for the Libby, Mont., residents who were exposed to asbestos fibers by W.R. Grace Co., …
