Latest Analysis by CBO Indicates Fair Act Adequately Funded




WASHINGTON -- According to a recent analysis by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the $140 billion price tag attached to S. 852 is sufficient to cover total claimant compensation.

The CBO analysis also attacks a privately funded Bates White study, which concluded that the fund would need $300 billion to satisfy claims.

A CBO analysis of the Bates Whites study found overestimates of the number of claims, including pleural abnormalities and of the overall population exposed to asbestos.
