Washington Times Editorial Calls for Lawmakers to 'Fix' Fund

A Dec. 12 Washington Times editorial urges lawmakers to merge the proposed Fairness in Asbestos Injury Resolution Act with the House of Representative's proposed medical criteria legislation.
'The only way to fix the fund is to merge it with the House's medical-criteria proposals and its other anti-fraud and pro-taxpayer ideas,' the op-ed piece says. 'That won't be easy: the climate in the Senate is to ignore the practical problems....In reality, asbestos is both a legal crisis and a medical crisis, one which demands real congressional resolve.'
