Senate Judiciary Members: Asbestos Trust Fund Bill Vote Could Come as Early as This Month

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Senate Judiciary Chairman Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) and Ranking Member Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) have told fellow senators that a vote on the asbestos trust fund bill could come as early as this month, according to a letter sent by the two ranking members.
Several published reports indicate that the letter asked senators to notify the bill's sponsors of any intended amendments.
According to the letter, Senators Specter and Leahy believe that they "could secure floor time in October for the asbestos reform bill."
