Orange County Jury Finds for Six Plaintiffs, Awards $29 Million

ORANGE, Texas - A Texas jury has awarded six U.S. Steel workers more than $29 million for injuries sustained as a result of exposure to products manufactured by North American Refractories Co. (NARCO). Douglas v. North American Refractories Co., No. A-920961-SC14 (Texas Dist. Ct., Orange Cty.).
The jury reached its verdict in Orange County District Court before Judge Pat Clark, finding NARCO 100 percent responsible for the alleged injuries, which included two asbestosis cases and four lung cancers.
