CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld awards of summary judgment to several asbestos defendants, finding in part that if it were to accept an affidavit presented by the plaintiff that did not reference any particular defendant's product, it would be permitting the 'imposition of liability on the manufacturer of any product with which a worker had the briefest of encounters on a single occasion.' Lindstrom, et al. v. A.W. Chesterton, et al., No. 04-3751 (6th Cir.).
