Exxon Liable for Asbestos-Related Deaths, Louisiana Jury Finds

PLAQUEMINE, La. - In what is being called a rare asbestos liability verdict, a Louisiana jury has awarded a total of $9.25 million to the families of two former Exxon workers who developed mesothelioma and died after nearly 30 years spent working for the fuel giant. Roberts, et al. v. Owens Corning Fiberglas Corp., et al., No. 45,664 (La. 18th Jud. Dist. Ct., Iberville Parish).
