Jury Finds for Boiler Defendants in Asbestosis Trial

CLEVELAND -- A jury has found for three defendants who claimed that the level of asbestos emitted from their furnaces was not substantial enough to cause the plaintiff's alleged asbestosis. Fuller, et al. v. Carrier Corp., et al., No. 03-512824 (Ohio Ct. Comm. Pls., Cuyahoga Cty.).
The Ohio Court of Common Pleas for Cuyahoga County jury reached the verdict on Aug. 10, finding in favor of defendants Weil McLain, Carrier Corp., and York International. Sources indicated that jurors voted 7-1 for the defendants.
