HOUSTON -- The judge overseeing the Texas state asbestos MDL has ruled that expert testimony linking mesothelioma and chrysotile asbestos meets evidentiary standards previously established by Texas courts, HarrisMartin Publishing is reporting. In Re: Asbestos Litigation, 2004-03964 (Texas Dist. Ct., Harris Cty.).
In an opinion issued June 29, Harris County District Court Judge Mark Davidson held that plaintiffs' experts have presented sufficient scientific and epidemiological evidence under Texas law to support plaintiffs' claims that chrysotile fibers can cause the asbestos-related disease.
