Judge Enters $150,000 in Sanctions for Discovery Abuse

BEAUMONT, Texas -- A state court judge has entered $150,000 in sanctions against asbestos defendant Kaiser Gypsum, several sources have confirmed to HarrisMartin Publishing. Allen v. ABOC Industries, B169628 (Texas 60th Dist. Ct., Jefferson Cty.).
Sources said it is unclear whether the sanctions, entered June 17 by Judge Gary Sanderson of the Texas 60th District Court for Jefferson County, will be entered against Kaiser Gypsum, or the defendant's counsel.
