Jury Finds for Supplier Defendant in Mesothelioma Trial

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- An Illinois jury has found for a supplier defendant in a mesothelioma retrial in which a state appellate court had previously reversed a directed verdict in favor of the employer. Caruso, et al. v. Sprinkmann Sons Corp., et al., No. 00L215 (Ill. Cir. Ct., Sangamon Cty.).
Sources said the Sangamon Circuit Court jury returned the verdict on April 26, rejecting claims that the plaintiff's mesothelioma was caused by asbestos-containing insulation products supplied by defendant M&O Insulation Company.
