Washington Millwright, Wife Awarded Over $1.5 Million

SEATTLE - A jury in Seattle has awarded more than $1.5 million to a millwright who was diagnosed with lymphoma colon cancer and asbestosis after years of occupational exposure to asbestos. Sundberg v. AC&S, No. 99-21756-0SEA (Wash. Super. Ct., King Cty.).
Ray Sundberg and his wife, Betty, were awarded damages after the King County Superior Court found defendant AC&S liable for Ray Sundberg's exposure to Limpet insulation.
AC&S supplied Limpet insulation to Longview Fibre, where the 74-year-old Sundberg worked from 1947 to 1989.
The jury awarded Sundberg $451,900 for medical expenses and wage and pension loss, $700,000 for Sundberg's pain …
