CLEVELAND - A state judge in Ohio has ruled that, because of a certificate of merge it executed in 1966, Crown Cork & Seal Co., Inc. is the successor in interest to Mundet Cork Corp. In Re: All Kelley & Ferraro Asbestos Cases v. A-Best Products Co., et al., No. CV-073958 (Ohio Comm. Pls., Cuyahoga Cty.).
As a result, Crown Cork & Seal has inherited all liabilities of its predecessor - a victory for plaintiffs' counsel who said after the ruling that they had spent months arguing the connection.
