Illinois Court Adopts Unimpaired Asbestos Docket

BELLEVILLE, Ill. -- The Illinois 20th Circuit Court for St. Clair County has signed an order effectively creating an unimpaired asbestos docket of non-malignant claims and those claims satisfying the ABA Standard for Non-Malignant Asbestos Related Disease. In re: All Asbestos Litigation, No. 04 MR 293 (Ill. 20th Jud. Cir. Ct., St. Clair Cty.).

In a Feb. 25 order, the court stated it will place the non-malignant claims in a deferred status until the claim is 'ripe for judicial attention and relief and to schedule cases for trial in a manner consistent with an economical allocation of judicial resources.'
