Jurors Award More Than $400,000 to Plaintiffs in Asbestos Lung Cancer Lawsuits

PHILADELPHIA -- Jurors in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County have awarded two widows more than $400,000 in damages after determining asbestos exposure contributed to their husbands' cancer-related deaths. Walker, et al. v. John Crane, et al. No. Dec. 2001-3821; Bates, et al. v. John Crane, et al., No. June 2003-2732 (Pa. Ct. Comm. Pls., Philadelphia Cty.).
On March 3, jurors completed the liability portion of the consolidated trial, assessing a one-fifth share to John Crane, the only defendant left at the completion of the trial.
