LOS ANGELES - A jury in California has awarded nearly $4.5 million to a steamfitter who was diagnosed two years ago with asbestos-related mesothelioma. Efstratios v. ABB Lummus Global Inc., BC 226519 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).

The Los Angeles County Superior Court jury reached the verdict July 17, awarding James Efstratios Sr. and his wife, Rose, a combined $4,438,000 in damages.
