Jury Awards $9.4 Million in Mesothelioma Case Against Georgia-Pacific

DALLAS -- A jury has awarded $9.4 million to the family of a man who died at age 41 of mesothelioma, allegedly caused by exposure to Georgia-Pacific's joint compound. Bostic, et al. v. Georgia-Pacific, et al., No. n/a (Texas Cty. Ct. at Law #3, Dallas Cty.).
On March 14, jurors in the Dallas County Court at Law #3 awarded $3.2 million in actual damages and $6.2 million in punitive damages. Georgia-Pacific was the only defendant left at trial, sources said.
