LOS ANGELES -- Union Carbide has filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit in which a California wallboard and texturing company claims Union Carbide misrepresented and concealed safety concerns when selling asbestos-containing products. Hamilton Materials Inc. v. Union Carbide, et al., No. 04-08389 (C.D. Calif.).

In the Oct. 18 motion to dismiss filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Union Carbide contends that government regulations placed plaintiff Hamilton Materials on notice of the dangers of asbestos-containing products.
