Defendant: Disband Court's Prejudicial Asbestos-Only Litigation Docket




WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A friction product defendant claims in a statement filed recently in Florida state court that the county's system for litigating asbestos cases is irreparably broken and should be terminated. In Re: Asbestos Litigation, No. 95-50000 (Fla. Cir. Ct., Palm Beach Cty.).

The paper was filed July 16 by DaimlerChrysler Corp. in response to Palm Beach County Circuit Court Judge Timothy McCarthy's request to hear from all parties in the litigation on the issue of whether the court should continue to operate its special asbestos-only docket.
