Texas Jury Returns Verdict for Bondex International in Mesothelioma Case

DALLAS - Jurors in Texas have relieved defendant Bondex International Inc. of liability in the alleged asbestos-related death of an Oregon man who claimed he inhaled asbestos while using the company's joint compound to build three dwellings in his home state. Lacey v. Bondex International Inc., et al., No. 02-12354-B (Texas Ct. at Law #2, Dallas Cty.).
The Dallas County jury returned the verdict in favor of Bondex after deliberating nearly four hours. The jury also found no liability as to defendants Kelly-Moore Paint Company, Inc. and Georgia-Pacific Corp., both of which had settled with plaintiff Harris Lacey's surviving family …
