JPMDL Transfers Cases Involving Liability of CCR Members to Philadelphia

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has issued an opinion transferring to MDL 875 three asbestos claims that involved questions of whether settlement agreements negotiated by the CCR create joint or separate liability for its members. In Re Asbestos Products Liability Litigation(No. VI), MDL Docket No. 875 (JPMDL).

In a brief opinion issued Aug. 29, the panel said that because the cases share common fact issues with cases already in the Asbestos MDL, their transfer will serve the convenience of all parties involved in the cases.
