Appeals Court Affirms $5.1 Million Verdict in 43-Year-Old Woman's Meso Case

ST. LOUIS - A state appeals court has affirmed a $5.1 million verdict awarded to the family of a Missouri woman who was exposed to asbestos from dust-laden clothing her father wore home after his work with ballistic missiles produced by defendant Aerojet. Goede, et al. v. Aerojet General Corporation, No. ED82833 (Mo. App. Ct., Eastern Dist.).

In a decision issued May 11, the Eastern District Missouri Court of Appeals rejected claims by Aerojet that the trial court committed numerous errors throughout the course of the trial and when it denied the defendant's subsequent motions for a new trial.
