PHILADELPHIA - The 3rd Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals has ordered the recusal of Judge Alfred M. Wolin in the Chapter 11 proceedings of three pending asbestos-related bankruptcies, HarrisMartin Publishing is reporting. In Re: Kensington International Limited, et al., No. 03-4212 (3rd Cir.).
Finding that the record does not indicate that the federal judge has done 'anything wrong, or unethical or biased,' the federal appeals court found that Judge Wolin must nevertheless be recused from further presiding over the bankruptcies of Owens Corning, W.R. Grace & Co. and USG Corp.
Creditors in those defendants' proceedings had sought Judge Wolin's recusal …
