Jury Awards $2 Million in Take-Home Exposure Case Against ExxonMobil

GALVESTON, Texas - A Texas jury has awarded nearly $2 million to a woman who claimed she was exposed to asbestos through clothing her husband wore home from his job as a machinist at an Exxon refinery. Altimore v. ExxonMobil, et al., No. 03-CV-0588 (Texas Dist. Ct., Galveston Cty.).
The award, which includes nearly $1 million in punitive damages, marks the second time in three months that jurors have found ExxonMobil guilty of malice.
