Del. Jury Awards $2.86 Million in Talc Powder Case Against R.T. Vanderbilt

WILMINGTON, Del. –– A Delaware jury has awarded $2.86 million in a talc powder case, finding defendant R.T. Vanderbilt 100 percent liable for the decedent’s pleural mesothelioma. In re Asbestos Litigation Michael Galliher, No. 10C-10-315 (Del. Super. Ct., New Castle Cty.).

The Delaware Superior Court for New Castle County jury reached the verdict, which totaled $2,864,583.33, on July 27, sources said. Judge John A. Parkins Jr. presided over the trial.

The plaintiffs argued that Michael Galliher, an Ohio resident, was exposed to asbestos while working at Crane Plumbing Fixtures Factory for approximately 40 years. While employed, Galliher allegedly worked with …
