WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said late yesterday that following months of negotiation, he has reintroduced a proposal to take asbestos litigation out of the nation's courts and into a nearly $124 billion trust fund.
A vote on the reworked bill, which sources said includes some changes to the proposal that passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee last July, is expected to get time on the Senate floor once Congress returns April 19 from a week-long break.
