BEAUMONT, Texas- A jury in Texas has awarded more than $2 million in an asbestos case that included claims by several women who allegedly developed asbestosis as a result of exposure to fibers their husbands brought home on their work clothes Brooks v. ACandS, Inc., No. B-150,374-AG (Texas Dist. Ct., Jefferson Cty.).
However, an insulator with alleged occupational exposure will receive the bulk of the verdict. According to sources, he was awarded $1.8 million. One other plaintiff, the wife of an insulator, was awarded $500,000 in recoverable damages.
