Article: "Malignant Mesothelioma from Neighborhood Exposure to Anthophyllite Asbestos"

Summary: Case study of a 38-year-old with pleural mesothelioma and no history of occupational exposure to asbestos. However, from age 8 through age 17, the individual lived, attended school, and delivered newspapers near a manufacturing facility that used anthophyllite asbestos exclusively. Neighborhood environmental exposure to anthophyllite asbestos has been associated with the development of pleural plaques and has not been reported to be linked with pleural mesothelioma.
