Jury Clears Norfolk Southern in Virginia Asbestos Case

ROANOKE, Va. - A Virginia jury has rejected a claim by a former railroad conductor who alleged that he developed asbestosis as a result of his exposure to asbestos in train car brake parts. McKee v. Norfolk Southern Railway Co., No. 770-CL-96001205 (Va. Cir. Ct., Roanoke Cty.).
In a verdict handed up March 11, the Roanoke City Circuit Court jury found Norfolk Southern Railway Co. not liable for asbestos-related injuries allegedly suffered by 71-year-old Billy Frank McKee.
