SAN FRANCISCO - A judge in California has granted a motion for nonsuit filed by several friction defendants named in a secondary exposure lawsuit that the defendants claim would have been voided by applicable Indiana law. Cossman v. Raybestos-Manhattan, Inc., et al., No. 311804 (Calif. Super., San Francisco Cty.).
San Francisco Superior Court Judge Robert L. Dondero granted the motion in late July after the state's Court of Appeal and Supreme Court had refused to review the court's decision to apply Indiana law to certain allegations by onetime California resident Bette Cossman.
