Philadelphia Jury Finds for John Crane in Two Asbestos Cases

PHILADELPHIA - Jurors considering claims of two former chemical company workers who claimed they suffered from asbestos-related injuries found for the sole defendant at trial, gasket manufacturer John Crane Inc., on Feb. 6. Stackhouse v. AC&S, et al., Oct. Term 2001 No. 3808; Joyce v. John Crane Inc., Dec. Term 2001 No. 0985 (Pa. Comm. Pls., Phila Co.).
Robert Stackhouse was a former chemical operator at the Hercules, Inc., chemical facility in Burlington County, N.J. He contracted lung cancer , which he blamed on exposure to asbestos at work. Stackhouse died before trial, at age 58.
