MINNEAPOLIS- A U.S. District Court judge said Jan. 5 he would appoint a special master in a case where Conwed Corp. asserted its workers' compensation subrogation interest in the tort claims of several of its former employees against Union Carbide Corp. Conwed Corporation v. Union Carbide Corporation Civil No. 5-92-88 (D. Minn.)
Senior Judge Donald D. Alsop ordered that the Special Master permit the parties to present evidence and make appropriate findings about the amounts Conwed claimed from the Special Compensation Fund as reimbursement for benefit payments to the employees involved in the Tyroll hearings.
