Rhode Island Proper Venue for Mesothelioma Claim Filed by Mass. Couple

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Rhode Island as a forum for an asbestos-related mesothelioma lawsuit is proper even though the couple who filed the claim is from Massachusetts, a Rhode Island state court has ruled. Perusse v. ACandS, Inc., et al., No. 00-5768 (R.I. Super. Ct.).

In its May 31 ruling, the Rhode Island Superior Court said its forum is proper because one of the more than 25 defendants named in the complaint is located by charter in Rhode Island.
