California Jury Finds in Favor of John Crane in Lung Cancer Lawsuit

SAN FRANCISCO -- A San Francisco jury has returned a verdict in favor of asbestos defendant John Crane, after finding that the company's allegedly defective valve packing did not contribute to a plaintiff's development of lung cancer. Peterson v. John Crane, No. 302742 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Francisco Cty.).
In a verdict returned June 29 in the California Superior Court for San Francisco County, the jury found that John Crane's valve packing was not defective and did not cause the plaintiff's cancer, in whole or in part.
