Jury Awards $3 Million to California Electrician Living with Mesothelioma

SAN FRANCISCO - Jurors in California have awarded nearly $3 million to a retired electrician living with mesothelioma, which he alleged was caused by his occupational asbestos exposure. Hoeffer v. Rockwell Automation, Inc., No. 413073 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Francisco Cty.).
The San Francisco County Superior Court jury returned the verdict Dec. 9 after finding Rockwell Automation liable for injuries caused by the defective products and negligence of subsidiaries Allen Bradley and Rostone Corporation.
Both Allen Bradley and Rostone manufactured and developed asbestos-containing electrical products to which plaintiff Philip Hoeffer alleged exposure.
