Remote Jurors Award $2.5 Million at Conclusion of Virtual Asbestos Trial; Assign Metalclad 7 Percent Liability

OAKLAND, Calif. –– Jurors who deliberated remotely have awarded more than $2.5 million to the plaintiffs at the conclusion of an asbestos case after hearing two-and-a-half months of testimony and considering the claims for more than one week, but assigned just seven percent liability to the lone remaining defendant in the action.

The California Superior Court for Alameda County jury reached the verdict on Sept. 28. According to civil minutes entered by the court, the verdict was read at 3:06 p.m. local time.
