Ohio Jury Returns Verdict for Defendants in Railroad Exposure Case




CLEVELAND - A jury has found for two defendants in a consolidated Ohio railroad asbestos case involving three workers who alleged that they developed asbestosis and silicosis as a result of their exposures. Jarvis, et al. v. Consolidated Rail Corp., et al., No. 417083, 417084, 420685 (Ohio Comm. Pls., Cuyahoga Cty.).

A Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court jury returned with defense verdicts July 3 in all three Federal Employers Liability Act cases. The plaintiffs, who ranged in age from 63 to 72 years old, were former carmen who were allegedly exposed to asbestos in brake shoes and other rail products, …
