Jury Awards $350,000 Against Engine Manufacturer in Mesothelioma Case

ST. PAUL, Minn. - A jury in Minnesota recently awarded more than $300,000 to the widow of a 76-year-old man who died from mesothelioma following exposure to asbestos-containing gaskets in products manufactured by the Briggs & Stratton Corporation. Gutzwiller v. Briggs & Stratton Corp., et al., No. CI-99-1802 (Minn. Dist. Ct., Ramsey Cty.).
Sources told HarrisMartin Publishing that the verdict was handed up May 6 in Ramsey County District Court following a trial before Judge Michael Decourcey.
