Minnesota Jury Awards $1.69 Million to Pipefitter in Asbestos Case

MINNEAPOLIS - A Minnesota jury has awarded nearly $1.7 million to a plaintiff who developed mesothelioma as a result of his exposure to asbestos. Gartner v. API, Inc., et al., No. PI02-19673 (Minn. Dist. Ct., Hennepin Cty.).
The Hennepin County District Court jury on July 17 awarded Walter and Janet Gartner $1.69 Million for Walter Gartner's asbestos-related mesothelioma, sources told HarrisMartin Publishing.
Gartner, a former pipefitter, alleged that he was exposed to Unibestos pipe covering, Kaylo block insulation and Johns-Manville insulating cement.
